The Minister of the Federal Capital Range, Nyesom Wike, has berated former Rivers Order Governor, Celestine Omehia, and the ex-Nationwide Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Birthday party, Uche Secondus, over their fresh remarks right through the commissioning of initiatives in Rivers Order.
Wike, talking on the Ahoada East and Ahoada West PDP end-of-year thanksgiving held in Ochigba, Ahoada East Native Executive Department of Rivers Order on Thursday, criticised Omehia for wondering his contributions to the situation as FCT Minister.
He additionally brushed aside Secondus’ feedback, accusing him of hypocrisy, and alleged that Secondus as soon as attempted to impose his cousin as governor of Rivers Order.
Reacting to Omehia’s remarks right through the venture initiation, Wike stated, “I overheard one, Celestine Omehia, pronouncing they must question me what I’ve completed for Rivers Order as Minister. Let me teach him: It’s not that i am a minister of Rivers Order; I’m the Minister of the Federal Capital Range.
“When I was Minister of Education, I brought a Faculty of Law to the University of Port Harcourt, provided grants to Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, and renovated Federal Government College, Port Harcourt, among others. These are tangible contributions he should focus on, not unfounded allegations.”
Wike additionally fired again at Secondus, who allegedly classified him an “enemy of the state.”
He accused Secondus of running in opposition to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s emergence and puzzled his newfound alliance with the governor.
“Secondus wanted his cousin, Tele Ikuru, to be governor. He was against Fubara. Today, he claims to be the governor’s friend while calling me an enemy. The records are clear; I removed Secondus as PDP chairman because of his actions,” Wike stated.
Highlighting the political appointments tied for Rivers Order below President Bola Tinubu’s management, Wike declared, “There is no governor in Rivers’ history that has attracted more political appointments than me. By the grace of Mr. President, Rivers State has the highest number of appointees in Tinubu’s government.”
Wike stated maximum finished initiatives, together with the Ring Street, have been initiated right through his tenure as governor.
“I awarded and paid 50% for the projects being commissioned today. The essence was to ensure continuity, but I’m disappointed to see some projects canceled,” Wike added.
