United’s striker hunt amid attacking struggles

The need for a new striker is evident, with Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to deliver in the Premier League, combining for just six goals this season. Amorim’s side has been one of the league’s lowest-scoring teams, and strengthening the attack is crucial to their hopes of securing European football next season.

Osimhen has been a long-term target for United and remains one of Europe’s most prolific forwards, despite falling out of favour under Napoli boss Antonio Conte. The Nigerian international has thrived on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 28 goals in 32 games this season.

Osimhen-Garnacho swap deal on the cards?

As reported by the Daily Star, Napoli could be open to a swap deal involving Osimhen and Garnacho, with both players having similar market valuations. Garnacho is expected to command a fee of around £67 million, while Osimhen has a release clause of £63 million.

Additionally, United would benefit financially from selling Garnacho, as he is an academy graduate, meaning the club would generate “pure profit” under the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

With United eager to secure a top striker and Napoli open to reinforcements on the wing, negotiations could gain momentum as the summer window approaches.
