The Ogun Environment Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old lady, known as Yetunde Gbadebo, for making an attempt to promote her three-year-old daughter on Aladiye Boulevard in Sagamu.
Our correspondent collected on Sunday that the incident came about at about 10:00 on July 25, 2024.
PUNCH Metro learnt from a police supply on the command that the suspect used to be stuck date negotiating a N700,000 value for the infant with a 38-year-old guy known as Sunday None.
A group of police detectives from the Sagamu Section stormed the department next a resident reported witnessing the duo all through the negotiation.
All over interrogation, the spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, mentioned that Gbadebo denied the allegation, date None had confessed to the crime.
She stated, “The girl used to be about to promote her three-year-old daughter to some other suspect. A resident who noticed the 2 suspects negotiating the fee approached our station in Sagamu to record what she noticed.
“The Sagamu Police Section separate a group of detectives who stormed the scene and arrested the 2 suspects. The person has confessed to the crime.
“The case will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department as soon preliminary findings are concluded.”
In January 2024, PUNCH Metro reported a related incident by which a 38-year-old lady, known as Chinyere Chukwu, used to be arrested in Anambra Environment for making an attempt to promote her two sons, elderly 9 and 7.
The suspect allegedly conspired along with her eldest daughter, Pleasure Chukwu, 17, to promote the minors to Mrs. Ify Obinabo, the Anambra Environment Ladies and Social Welfare Commissioner, who posed as a purchaser next receiving a tip-off.
