Nigerian singer and hypeman Slimcase has openly expressed admiration for Wizkid’s lifestyle, revealing that even a fraction of it would make him content for life.
In a recent interview shared on X Thursday, Slimcase said, “If I can get just 10 per cent of Wizkid’s enjoyment, I am set for life. Wizkid’s lifestyle is the most extravagant in the Nigerian music industry—no one even comes close. He enjoys luxury quietly, without flaunting it on camera.”
Slimcase, born Oluwafemi Oladapo, rose from humble beginnings, once earning ₦15,000 a month working in a factory, before making a name for himself in Nigeria’s music scene.
He is credited with popularising the viral “Shaku Shaku” street dance and music trend and has collaborated with top acts like Wizkid, D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, and 2Baba. His song “Gucci Snake” featuring Wizkid remains one of his most notable works.
Known for his street-wise background, Slimcase has built a multifaceted career beyond music. He is a content creator and influencer, citing Don Jazzy as an inspiration for this side of his work.
He has also served as a brand ambassador, including for AJ Global, and earned nominations and awards such as The Headies’ Best Street-Hop Artiste and the City People Entertainment Awards’ Best Collaboration.
His trademark catchphrases “SaintSamiGanja” and “RubyLearnShii” have further cemented his street credibility.
Despite his success, Slimcase maintains a grounded lifestyle, reflecting on his journey and aspirations.
“Seeing Wizkid live life like that makes you think about how far you’ve come and where you want to be. I’ve worked hard, but enjoying life quietly, like him, is something I admire.”
Wizkid, on the other hand, is renowned for his high-profile life. The Grammy-winning superstar reportedly owns properties in Lagos, London, and Los Angeles, drives luxury cars like Rolls-Royces and Lamborghinis, and travels frequently on private jets. Known for his impeccable fashion sense, exclusive parties, and star-studded collaborations, Wizkid epitomises success and discreet extravagance in the African music industry.
While Slimcase’s journey reflects hard work, hustle, and street-savvy charm, his admiration for Wizkid’s quieter, luxurious lifestyle shows the blend of aspiration and inspiration shaping Nigeria’s music stars today.
