Harare to Host Permanent Headquarters for Intra-African Trade Fair

The Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) is set to establish a permanent headquarters in Harare, Zimbabwe, after beating bids from five other African countries. This decision aims to create a sustainable and scalable institution that is aligned with the vision of the African Continental Free Trade Area. Zimbabwe was chosen for its pledge to provide land for expansion, conference facilities, connectivity, and accommodation capacity. The move signals a new chapter for the continent’s most important trade and investment gathering, which recently facilitated a staggering $48.3 billion in deals. This permanent base in Harare will serve as a central hub, powering the growth of intra-African trade and solidifying the continent’s economic awakening for years to come.
