Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to reports in the British media.
The 30-year-old Spaniard, who has a £5 million release clause, added an extra year to his Chelsea contract last summer before impressing on loan at Bournemouth.
Kepa is expected to join Arsenal to compete with fellow Spaniard David Raya for the starting goalkeeper spot. The Gunners were in the market for a new No. 2 after opting against a permanent deal for Neto, who spent last season on loan at the Emirates from Bournemouth.
Despite a mixed seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge, Kepa remains the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, following his £72 million move from Athletic Bilbao in 2018. He made 163 appearances for Chelsea, winning four major trophies.
Kepa also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Real Madrid in 2023/24, where he added La Liga and Champions League titles to his resume.
