Victor Osimhen agrees personal terms for Galatasaray move

Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Turkish giants Galatasaray ahead of a permanent move from Napoli, marking a significant development in one of this summer’s most closely followed transfer sagas.

After a sensational loan spell in the Turkish Super Lig last season, where he scored 37 goals and provided 8 assists in 41 appearances, Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to remain in Istanbul, rejecting approaches from Saudi Arabia, including a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal.

According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, Victor Osimhen has verbally agreed to a three-year deal with Galatasaray, which includes an option to extend until 2029.

The Turkish club is reportedly confident of concluding the deal in the coming days, having already made an official bid that matches Osimhen’s €75 million release clause.

However, while Galatasaray are willing to meet the clause, they prefer to pay in five instalments, prompting Napoli to request bank guarantees before finalising the deal.

Napoli, under new manager Antonio Conte, remain firm in demanding full payment upfront despite Osimhen’s contract entering its final year.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker was frozen out of Napoli’s squad last summer following tension with Conte, and a proposed last-minute move to Saudi side Al-Ahli collapsed.

He then joined Galatasaray on loan as a temporary solution, a move that has proven fruitful for both player and club.

Napoli are holding out for the full €75m release clause, despite the risk of losing the striker for free in 2026.

Galatasaray’s latest offer is now in line with Napoli’s demands, and the Turkish champions are ready to complete the deal subject to financial guarantees.
