Tottenham, Aston Villa to battle Inter for Ademola Lookman

Two Premier League clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, have reportedly joined the race to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, despite the Atalanta star already reaching personal terms with Inter Milan.

According to SportsBoom, both Premier League clubs have contacted Atalanta ahead of the transfer deadline, with Spurs emerging as the most likely side to meet the Italian club’s €50 million valuation.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is eager to reinforce his attack following the departure of captain Heung-min Son and sees Lookman as a direct replacement.

The 27-year-old’s pace, dribbling ability, and scoring touch make him an ideal fit for the North London side.

Villa have also made enquiries but would likely need to sell one of their key forwards, such as Ollie Watkins or Morgan Rogers, to finance a move.

Inter Milan remain in the picture, having already seen two bids rejected as Atalanta hold firm at around €50m.

Lookman, who has reportedly missed Atalanta training and is believed to be in London, has submitted a transfer request in a bid to push through an exit.

The Nigerian forward is coming off a stellar season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances, and has become one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers.
