According to the World Bank, electricity outages cost African economies between 2% and 4% of GDP annually, with the manufacturing sector among the hardest hit. However, declining costs of renewable technologies, improved access to green finance, and a growing ecosystem of energy innovators are paving the way for manufacturers to become both energy producers and consumers.
The Manufacturing Indaba 2025, taking place from 15 – 16 July 2025 at the Sandton Convention Centre, is set to convene business leaders, government, financiers, and energy experts committed to shaping a sustainable, low-carbon industrial future for Africa.
