Rep Akande-Sadipe denies defection rumours, backs APC, Tinubu – Tribune Online

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has emphatically dismissed rumours of her alleged defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming her unwavering loyalty to the ruling party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking at the Renewed Hope Oluyole Communities Parley held in Ibadan on Friday, the lawmaker described the claims linking her to the Accord Party or any other political platform as “malicious fabrications” orchestrated by detractors to mislead the public and destabilise her political base.

“I am not leaving the APC for Accord or any other party,” she declared. “I remain fully committed to the APC and to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The parley, organised by the TASK Community Relations Volunteers, drew a large turnout of community leaders, party stakeholders, and residents from across Oluyole Federal Constituency.

Discussions centred on grassroots development, political unity, and strategies to strengthen party cohesion ahead of future electoral cycles.

Akande-Sadipe used the platform to reaffirm her grassroots connection and mobilise support for the APC, urging constituents to remain steadfast in their backing of the Tinubu administration.

She stressed that continuity in leadership is critical to sustaining ongoing reforms and national rebuilding efforts, calling on the electorate to support the president’s re-election in 2027.

In a major highlight of the event, the lawmaker distributed wheelchairs, food items, beverages, power banks, caps, and other relief materials to physically challenged persons and vulnerable constituents.

She explained that she chose to mark her 60th birthday through humanitarian outreach rather than personal celebration.

Recounting a case of a physically challenged boy in Ward 2 who had been unable to attend school due to lack of mobility support, Akande-Sadipe said such experiences continue to drive her commitment to inclusive representation and social intervention.

She also called for greater support for women in politics, noting that inclusive governance remains key to strengthening democracy.

She urged party leaders and stakeholders to create more opportunities for women and youths, whom she described as critical to the nation’s future.

To further this goal, she introduced the “Sister, Hold My Hand Initiative,” aimed at fostering solidarity and empowerment among women, while also advocating increased youth participation in leadership and governance.

Highlighting her legislative achievements, the lawmaker disclosed that the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has approved the construction of three footbridges on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway following her sustained advocacy, with a fourth already captured as a constituency project.

In his remarks, the APC Chairman in Oluyole, Prince Dotun Oladipupo, commended Akande-Sadipe for what he described as “quality and impactful representation,” urging her supporters to extend their loyalty to the APC across all levels of government.

Other party leaders and community representatives also lauded her performance, describing her as a responsive and result-driven lawmaker whose projects and interventions have positively impacted lives across the constituency.

The event witnessed the presence of prominent political figures, community leaders, and stakeholders, with representatives from numerous communities, religious bodies, and grassroots organisations in attendance.

The massive turnout underscored Akande-Sadipe’s enduring political influence in Oluyole and reinforced support for both her leadership and the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
