Some of the leaders of the crowd, Col. Blameless Azubuike (retd.), had lamented the plight of army pensioners, pointing out that their unpaid entitlements had brought about untold heartbreak.
He mentioned that regardless of agreements that their entitlements could be cleared in November, they have been knowledgeable that the bills may no longer be made because of a inadequency of money backing.
Azubuike mentioned, “We have been advised commendation has been tie for the cost of our entitlements. The one factor difference is money backing.
“We were told to exercise patience and assured that our long-unpaid entitlements would be settled in November. November is gone, and there is no indication of when this will happen because it’s a matter with the FMoF and not the Ministry of Defence.”
