NRC investigates price ticket racketeering on Abuja-Kaduna educate carrier

The Nigerian Railway Company has introduced plans to research allegations of price ticket racketeering involving some officers at the Abuja-Kaduna educate carrier.

The Company’s Deputy Director of Family Members of the family, Yakub Mahmood, disclosed this in a commentary issued in Abuja on Saturday.

Mahmood unhidden that some officers had been exploiting passengers’ difficulties with the net reserving platform to interact in price ticket racketeering.

The commentary learn: “Knowledge has reached the control of the NRC relating to passengers’ difficulties in acquiring tickets on-line, to price ticket racketeering at the Abuja-Kaduna Teach Carrier (AKTS) lately.

“Within the interim, the Managing Director of the NRC, Mr Freeborn Okhiria, has directed Mr Mohammed Modibo Ibrahim to instantly file and suppose the location of Supervisor of the AKTS.

“The Managing Director has also instructed the Director of Operations to increase the frequency of train services on the route within the next two weeks.”

Mahmood appealed to the people, particularly passengers, to undergo with the NRC, assuring them that the problem would quickly be resolved.

On 22 January 2021, the Federal Govt introduced a
N900 million e-ticketing platform for the net acquire of educate tickets at the Abuja-Kaduna carrier.

In November 2023, the NRC offered the digital ticketing platform for the Lagos-Ibadan and Itakpe-Warri educate products and services.

The NRC mentioned the e-ticketing platform used to be offered to let fall bodily touch between passengers and the Company’s group of workers.
