NAF distances self from ongoing recruitment

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has raised the alarm over the circulation of fraudulent messages online, falsely claiming that it has begun recruitment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).

In a statement issued on Thursday, the NAF firmly debunked these claims, stating that no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.

Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF Headquarters, described the recruitment claims as fake and urged the public to disregard the messages in their entirety.

NAF warned that the false information was being peddled by fraudsters seeking to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians, especially young job seekers.

The Air Force emphasized that its recruitment and enlistment processes remain free, transparent, and strictly merit-based.

It does not charge fees at any stage of recruitment, nor does it employ agents or third parties to conduct enlistment on its behalf.

According to the statement, any official recruitment exercise will be widely announced through credible national newspapers, the NAF’s official website, and its verified social media platforms.

The NAF also cautioned members of the public to be wary of online scams and to avoid engaging with unofficial recruitment advertisements.

It reiterated that only information shared through the Air Force’s verified communication channels should be trusted.

The Air Force directed the public to stay informed through its official presence on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and its website at www.airforce.mil.ng.

The NAF restated its commitment to integrity, transparency, and efficient service delivery in safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerians.
