Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has completed his medical at Barcelona ahead of a season-long loan move to the Spanish giants.
The 27-year-old England international arrived in Catalonia on Sunday night after receiving permission from United to finalise the details of the deal.
He was welcomed at the club’s training ground on Monday morning by manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco.
Talks between both clubs progressed quickly over the past week, with an agreement in principle reached over the weekend.
Barcelona will cover Rashford’s wages in full for the duration of the loan after the player agreed to a 25% pay cut, saving Man United approximately £14 million.
The deal includes a purchase option set at €35 million and will run for an initial 12 months. Rashford is expected to be unveiled to the media on Wednesday.
Barcelona has been Rashford’s preferred destination since December, when he made it clear he was open to a fresh challenge following a difficult spell under United manager Rúben Amorim. The move marks his second successive loan spell, following a six-month stint at Aston Villa last season.
The Catalan club is hopeful the transfer will be finalised in time for Rashford to join their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, which kicks off on Thursday.
