Manchester United are reportedly preparing a bold new move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, with a player-plus-cash offer that could see Danish forward Rasmus Højlund head to Napoli in return.
According to Foot Mercato, United have initiated discussions with Serie A side Napoli, tabling a proposal that includes Højlund and a cash sum of around €40 million for the signature of Osimhen.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles star just wrapped up an outstanding loan spell at Galatasaray, where he netted 36 goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
His prolific form helped the Turkish giants clinch both the league and cup titles, solidifying his status as one of Europe’s most coveted forwards this summer.
Reports indicate that United’s transfer negotiator Matt Hargreaves recently travelled to Italy for face-to-face talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna.
Although Osimhen’s contract includes a €75 million release clause, it is only applicable to non-Italian clubs, making direct negotiations crucial for any deal.
United are desperate to strengthen their attack after a disappointing season, view Osimhen as their ideal marquee signing. The Red Devils finished a lowly 15th in the Premier League and ended the campaign without silverware, a season many have described as disastrous.
