Bauchi govt directs health workers to check medical status – Tribune Online

The Bauchi State Government has instructed all health workers in its employment to participate in the ongoing medical outreach to assess their health status.

This directive was issued by the State Commissioner for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam, during the official launch of a free medical outreach for health workers, held to commemorate World Health Day 2026.

The Commissioner emphasised that the purpose of this medical outreach is to help health workers understand their own health status as they care for their clients.

According to him, “As frontline health workers, we need to know our health status in order to be able to perform our professional services to the people. We have to be efficient and effective.”

He further stated that a Health worker who does not know his/her status, will not be able to discharge his/her responsibilities to the clients who need services.

According to him, “Knowing the importance of Health check, as a Ministry, we will institutionalise that, in the month of April every year, medical outreach will be organised for the health workers to check their health status.”
