Ajibade, Monday Arrive at Super Falcons Camp for Friendly

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forward Gift Monday, Christy Ucheibe, and eight other players have arrived at the Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé, Cameroon, ahead of the two-match friendly with the hosts.

The team’s Media Officer, Mary Akinsola, said on Wednesday that “the team will be training by 4:30 p.m. at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo as more players continue to arrive.”

According to Akinsola, other players who have arrived include Canada-based Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Israeli-based Glory Ogbonna, and Joy Omewa, who plays for Nottingham Forest in England.

Others are Madrid-based Esther Onyenezide, Fatima Okolo from Abia Angels, Favour Nkwocha of FC Robo, Tanzania-based Precious Christopher, and Oluwatosin Demehin, who plays for Galatasaray Sportive in Turkey.

The double-header will be played on Saturday and Tuesday, March 3, both in Yaoundé.

The friendly matches serve as preparation for the 13th Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled for March 13 to April 3, 2026.

“All four semi-finalists in the tournament will qualify directly to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil,” Akinsola said.
