Nollywood-Bollywood collaboration film, ‘On Different Grounds’, produced by Nicolette Ndigwe and directed by Mildred Okwo, is scheduled for cinema release on May 1, 2026, with a production budget of $350,000 (about N476.6 million).
The movie is about a divorced real estate billionaire couple who reunite for their daughter’s wedding after years apart. Their reunion becomes complicated when their daughter makes plans aimed at stopping the wedding and bringing her parents back together.
The movie, which was produced by HB&Q Impressions, brings together cast members from Nigeria, India, Ghana, and the United States. Cast includes Jennifer Eliogu, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Abena Akuaba, Uche Jumbo, Nimesh Diliprai, Uche Montana, Nkem Owoh, among others. The production was filmed in Lagos and was a collaboration between both Nollywood and Bollywood, targeting audiences across multiple markets.
According to the production company, the film will be released in cinemas across Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Distribution plans also include video-on-demand platforms as well as in-flight entertainment on selected international airlines.
The producers have outlined a marketing plan valued at N74.8 million, which will cover media promotion, cinema advertising, billboards, premiere events, and logistics. The Pre-release activities, which already began in February, include publicity campaigns, private screenings, and ticket sales ahead of the official premiere in Lagos.
The marketing breakdowns included N10 million for the media promotion and publicity across social media, print, and television; N8 million for in-cinema marketing such as banners and standees; and N5 million for billboards in major cities.
An additional N10 million has been allocated for a private screening targeted at high-net-worth individuals, while N25 million is set aside for the Lagos premiere. Logistics and cinema-related activities, including tickets and travel, account for N15 million, with a contingency of N6.8 million bringing the total marketing spend to N74.8 million.
Pre-release activities began in February and include publicity campaigns, private screenings, and ticket sales ahead of the official premiere in Lagos.
The premiere will feature a red carpet, cultural exhibitions, and a fashion showcase reflecting elements of Igbo, Itsekiri, and Indian cultures represented in the film.
