The disposed 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has called on the Federal and State Governments to intensify efforts towards protecting the lives, health and property of citizens.
Bayero made the call shortly after delivering his Eid-el-Fitr message following the two-rakat prayer marking the end of Ramadan at his palace in Nasarawa, Kano.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday and signed by Bayero’s spokesperson, Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Na’isa.
Bayero emphasised the need for leaders to consider the prevailing socio-economic conditions of the people and prioritise their most pressing needs.
“Our leaders must take into account the current realities facing the people and ensure that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority,” he said.
He also urged citizens to continue praying for their leaders and to maintain goodwill towards them in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Bayero prayed for continued peace, progress and divine guidance for leaders to effectively address critical challenges facing the populace, particularly in the areas of security, food affordability and access to essential commodities.
The emir commended the Federal Government, members of the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly for their support to citizens during the Ramadan period, expressing hope that such efforts would be sustained.
He further appreciated Islamic scholars and Imams for their role in guiding the faithful and promoting righteousness throughout the fasting period.
The monarch also lauded business owners and wealthy individuals for their contributions, urging them to sustain efforts towards ensuring the availability and affordability of food and essential goods.
“Let us continue to support one another, especially the less privileged, so that everyone can partake in the blessings of this season,” he added.
Bayero congratulated the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, government officials and the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
