JUST IN: Tinubu arrives UK for historic two-day visit

United Kingdom officials on Tuesday received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on arrival for a two-day State Visit, accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

The visit, at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, marks a historic moment, as Tinubu becomes the first Nigerian leader in decades to undertake such a trip and the first to be formally received at Windsor Castle by a reigning British monarch.

Also present to welcome the President was the United Kingdom Ambassador to Nigeria, Muhammed Maidugu.

The visit is expected to deepen bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, focusing on trade, security, investment, and cultural cooperation.

During his stay, Tinubu will participate in high-level engagements in London, including bilateral talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street, where both countries are expected to finalise key agreements across multiple sectors.
