Police detectives in ondo state, have arrested 10 suspected kidnappers and recovered ransom collected from their victims in Akure the state capital.

The commands spokesperson DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said that the arrest of the suspects was a ” significant breakthrough in its sustained crackdown on kidnapping and other violent crimes across the State with the arrest of ten suspected kidnappers and the recovery of ransom money in Akure.

Abayomi noted that the suspects were arrested by a combined operation between the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Section and visiting-PMF personnel approved and deployed by the police headquarters to tye state as operational support.

According to him the operatives swiftly mobilized to locations along Ondo Road based on credible and actionable intelligence and arrested the suspects

Abayomi added that “the intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of Ten suspects believed to be connected to the kidnapping syndicate.

“All the suspects apprehended are: Muritala Muhammed (aged;22), Mustapha Adamu (aged;20), Usman Ibrahim (aged;25), Amisu Aruna (aged;28), Asiru Abdulasis (aged;20), Abduliu Sanni (aged;22), Ibrahim Suraju (aged;20), Noah Isiaku (aged;20), Abdulahi Suraju (aged;20), and Arabi Hamet (aged;18).

“During the operation, their operational motorcycle and ransom money was recovered from the suspects. Notably, part of the recovered cash comprised burnt currency notes, which are currently being documented as exhibits in the ongoing investigation.

“The suspects have made useful confessional statements, detailing the individual roles each played within the syndicate. Relevant exhibits recovered and are currently being processed for comprehensive investigation and further necessary action.

Abayomi said that ” The Ondo State Police Command is working assiduously to unravel the full scope of the syndicate’s operations and to identify and apprehend other accomplices who may still be at large.

He reassured residents of Ondo State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ridding the State of kidnapping and other heinous crimes.

The police inage maker, urged members of the public to continue to support the Police with timely and credible information, as community partnership remains vital in the fight against Kidnapping and other violent crimes.

He urged communities across Ondo State to take proactive steps by organizing and strengthening credible vigilante groups to complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.

Abayomi reassured residents that the Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property, while calling on all stakeholders to play their part in sustaining peace and security across the State
