Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta in a deal worth an initial €35 million, with a further €5 million in potential add-ons.
Contract Runs Until 2030
Lookman reportedly signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Atletico, keeping him at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano until June 30, 2030.

The 28-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe during the transfer window, but negotiations between the clubs failed to produce an agreement.

Atletico Confirm Transfer
“Atletico de Madrid and Atalanta have agreed on the transfer of Ademola Lookman, who has signed for us until 30 June 2030,” Atletico Madrid said in a statement.
“A versatile and dynamic right-footed player, he is capable of playing as a second striker or as a winger on either flank, where he maximises his pace and dribbling ability.”
Atlético added that Lookman successfully passed his medical at the Vithas-Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre at Arturo Soria University Hospital in Madrid before completing the formalities at the club’s offices, where he was welcomed by chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil.
Emotional Farewell to Atalanta
An Excited Lookman took to his verified X account to post an emotional farewell message to Atalanta and their supporters.
“To the Atalanta family, after nearly four years, the time has come for me to say goodbye,” he wrote. “From the moment I arrived in Bergamo, you welcomed me like one of your own and pushed me to be the best version of myself.,
“Together we made history. European Champions, a night none of us will ever forget. Scoring a hat-trick in a European final and lifting a trophy with this club after a 61-year drought will stay with me forever. Winning the Africa Player of the Year award in 2024 as an Atalanta player will also remain special.
“Thank you to my teammates, the staff and the club. To the fans, your passion, belief and energy meant everything. Thank you for making Bergamo feel like home. Grazie di tutto, ciao.”
