Pro-Tinubu group rallies grassroots support for 2027

The Tinubu Media Force has reaffirmed its support for President Bola Tinubu, passing a vote of confidence in his leadership and pledging to intensify grassroots media engagement ahead of the 2027 general election.

The group’s National Coordinator, Gbenga Abiola, made this known on Monday at a grassroots media summit held in Abuja, which drew community-based media practitioners.

Abiola said the summit was aimed at strengthening credible grassroots communication and countering misinformation capable of undermining national unity and public confidence in government.

“People at the grassroots deserve access to credible information that promotes unity and national progress. We have taken it upon ourselves to mobilise grassroots media communicators across the country to counter misinformation,” he said.

Expressing confidence in the President’s leadership, Abiola said the TMF was committed to taking the Renewed Hope Agenda to every part of the country.

“We have absolute confidence in President Tinubu and the direction he is taking Nigeria. Our mission is to ensure that his vision reaches every corner of the country,” he said.

He added that the group would intensify strategic communication efforts to counter false narratives and fake news.

“We are dedicated to countering fake news that seeks to undermine the progress of our nation. We will work tirelessly to ensure that the President’s vision for a better Nigeria is realised,” Abiola said.

Abiola said the organisation would remain active in mobilising support for the President ahead of the 2027 general election.

“We are committed to mobilising Nigerians behind the President’s agenda and working assiduously to secure victory in 2027,” he added.

He noted that participants at the summit engaged in interactive sessions designed to strengthen their skills in strategic communication and informed public discourse, stressing that effective grassroots media engagement remained critical to sustainable national development.

Delivering the keynote address, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Otega Ogra, said the Tinubu administration had recorded notable progress, particularly in food and economic security.

“The food and economic security outlook has improved, and this administration is laying a strong foundation that will benefit Nigerians across all sectors,” Ogra said.

He urged Nigerians to support government policies and programmes, noting that national development required unity and collective responsibility.

“If we come together as one, our country will move forward,” he said, while also calling for responsible use of the digital space to promote accurate information.

“The digital space should be used to inform, educate and unite Nigerians, not to spread falsehoods,” Ogra added.

Also speaking, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dayo Israel, commended the Tinubu Media Force for promoting the administration’s policies and vision.

“Your work has helped in projecting the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians,” Israel said, pledging the party’s continued collaboration with the group.

He emphasised the importance of youth participation in achieving the administration’s objectives, urging young Nigerians to remain actively engaged.

Participants at the summit commended the Tinubu Media Force for its role in countering misinformation and promoting factual narratives about government activities, noting that sustained grassroots mobilisation would strengthen public understanding of government initiatives.

The forum concluded with a call for continued collaboration among party stakeholders, grassroots media advocates and supporters of the administration
