Oluyole and District Society marks first anniversary with celebration, awards – Tribune Online


Members of the Oluyole and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) recently gathered in an atmosphere filled with joy to celebrate the district’s first anniversary since its establishment on October 1, 2024.

The district, which was carved out of the Ibadan and District Society of ICAN, marked the milestone with a colourful event attended by dignitaries, members, and friends of the association.

In her keynote address, the Pioneer District Chairman, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Nwadike, FCA, expressed deep appreciation to all who supported the district from its formative stage. She commended their commitment and contributions towards nurturing the young district into a stronger and more vibrant society within its first year.

The District General Secretary, Mr. Adegboye Adeyinka Adelabu, FCA, who coincidentally celebrated his 40th birthday on the same day, highlighted the district’s achievements over the past year.

Guests also listened to an insightful paper presentation delivered by the Vice Chancellor of Lead City University, Professor Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo.

Chairperson of the First Anniversary Committee, Mrs. Tolulope Olatoyan, FCA, in her remarks, expressed gratitude to members for their steadfastness and dedication, noting that the district, fondly referred to as the “Independence District,” had demonstrated unity and resilience since its inception.

As part of the celebration, six outstanding members were recognised for their active participation and contributions to the growth of the district. The awardees were Mrs. Giwa Sekeenat, Elujoba Olamide, Mrs. Elang Obua, Mr. Aderemi Ayodeji, Deacon Oketola Kolawole, and Miss Precious Akinbodunse.

The event also featured goodwill messages, networking, and renewed commitment from members to further strengthen the legacy of the Oluyole and District Society of ICAN.
