Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has arrived at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan for his ongoing coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Tribune Online reports that Oba Ladoja was earlier at Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan, where Oluwo Afobaje Labosinde decorated him with Akoko leaves as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Our correspondent at the ongoing coronation ceremony learnt that this is in line with the chieftaincy tradition of Ibadanland.

The decoration was preceded by the traditional opening of a calabash.
After the decoration, Oba Ladoja, who cruised to Labosinde Compound in a white Rolls-Royce, moved to the Osemeji shrine, directly opposite Labosinde Compound, for further traditional rites.

With his arrival at the Mapo Hall, O0ba Ladoja joined other monarches including the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I; Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Ghandi; Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, among other monarchs and dignitaries awaiting the arrival of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event.
