Itauma wins Dillian Whyte by KO in Round1

Moses Itauma knocks fellow Englishman Dillian Whyte in the first round of a 10 rounds bout to win heavyweight fight on Saturday night in Riyadh.

Itauma hurt Whyte and the 20-year-old did not missed the chance to punish the veteran with Whyte rocking on the ropes.

It was a hard right hook for Itauma that sends Whyte crashing to the canvas as Itauma picks his punches perfectly.

Moses Itauma’s heavyweight fight with Dillian Whyte in an all-British encounter held in Saudi Arabia, saw the unbeaten Itauma take on seasoned contender and former world title challenger Whyte.

Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs)was the instant favourite when the fight was announced and remains so, beating the veteran in the first round.

Itauma with 83 percent knockout rate before the Riyadh rumble against Whyte, who has 68 percent in 31 wins.

Itauma, 20, extends unbeaten record with 11th stoppage in 13 fights.

The 20-year-old has been dubbed the next star of the heavyweight division but in Whyte, 37, he faced an opponent who has seen it all and been in with almost every top fighter of his generation.

To give some context on the age gap, too, the first fight Itauma watched where he had a full grasp of who both fighters were was Whyte against Anthony Joshua in 2015. He was 10 years old.

Since then, Itauma has stormed through all 12 opponents to start his career, but faces by far his biggest challenge to date against the veteran Whyte last night.

“What people don’t realise is boxing Dillian White is a big deal,” Itauma said before the bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“People don’t realise I’m boxing Dillian Whyte at 20 years old. That’s a huge deal and people are not giving me credit for that, but I guess I’m not here for a pats on the back am I?”

There has been plenty of respect between Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte during the build-up to the fight but things started to bubble over after asking the ‘Body Snatcher’ if he’s a sheep or a wolf.

“I’m a chilled guy until people mess about with me. With me, I don’t need to bully or go crazy. I can switch just like that. So relax, bro, we’re good. Me and him ain’t got no beef. It’s business,” Whyte said before the bout.
