While the painful history of slavery has been presented in a vast number of museum exhibits, a new one at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture is taking a slightly different approach. Called ‘In Slavery’s Wake,’ it aims to illustrate the worldwide impact of the slave trade.
